Covenant Microfinance Bank Ltd. has further solidified its presence in Nigeria’s financial sector with the inauguration of a new branch in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on October 22, 2024. This strategic move is part of the bank’s commitment to delivering innovative and accessible financial solutions to communities across the nation.
The event, graced by esteemed dignitaries and stakeholders, marked a significant milestone in the bank’s journey to empower individuals and small businesses. Deaconess Ebipre Oluyemi, Chairperson of the bank, emphasized that the branch is not just a physical expansion but a gateway to new opportunities for the people and businesses of Abeokuta.
“This branch will provide customized solutions to help individuals and businesses alike achieve their financial aspirations,” Oluyemi stated during her address. She extended her gratitude to customers for their continued trust and applauded the dedication of the Board, management, and staff for their tireless efforts in realizing the vision of expansion.
She further assured the Abeokuta community of the bank’s unwavering commitment to professionalism and integrity while contributing to the region’s economic growth. “Our growth is intertwined with the growth of the communities we serve,” she remarked, reaffirming the bank’s dedication to fostering sustainable development.

Notable dignitaries in attendance, including the Olubara of Ibara, Oba Jacob Omolade, commended the bank’s decision to extend its services to the heart of Egba land. Oba Omolade expressed optimism that the branch would bolster the financial stability of the region, stating, “Any investment in Oke-Ilewo and Egba land will flourish and grow to greater heights.”
Representing Covenant University, Professor Abiodun Adebayo applauded the bank’s expansion, calling it a “family bank” long awaited by the university community. The Honourable Commissioner for Urban and Regional Planning, Town planner Olatunji Odunlami, also highlighted the bank’s potential to create financial opportunities for the people of Abeokuta and Ogun State.
